Dance REVOLT – The hottest dance workshop in the 6.
Dance Revolt is a half day dance workshop open to children/youth 10 years and up and of any skill level. Choose from Hip-Hop, Reggae, House, Contemporary, African, Afro-Jazz and Salsa,. Dance Revolt is an opportunity for youth to learn a variety of dance genres from professional choreographers, to connect with dancers from other communities, to share their creativity and talent and to make new relationships. This workshop is a high energy, fun learning environment for all dance levels.
Price is based on a minimum requirement of 40 students
Dance Revolt is a half day dance workshop open to children/youth of various skillsets who are 10 years old and up. This is an opportunity for youth to learn a variety of dance genres from professional choreographers, to connect with other dancers in their community and to share their creativity and talents. This workshop is a high energy, fun learning environment for all dance levels.
Youth will go through a 10 -15 min warm up which will include name games, icebreakers and stretches. Once everyone has been climatized, the larger group will be split into 2 smaller groups. Each group will begin working with their designated choreographer for 45 minutes. There is a brief snack/water break followed by another 45 minute dance class. Once the last class is complete, students will gather to showcase what they’ve learned and each student will receive a Dance Revolt Certificate. The day will conclude with a large group picture cementing the moment. Your camp will receive a digital copy of the picture.

Meet our faculty
Brandon “Bizzy” Owuso
Brandon “Bizzy” Owusu was born in Toronto, Canada and has been dancing professionally for 5 years. Brandon has trained in styles such as Dancehall, Hip-Hop, African and Capoeira. He has danced for artists such as: Ariana Grande, Lil John, Elephant Man, Beenie Man, Shawn Desman, Lights and many more.
Melissa “Mel” Hart
Melissa Hart aka Mel is a vibrant, established performing artist from Toronto. With over a decade of experience as competitive figure skater paralleled with her education in Classical Ballet and Contemporary dance, as well as a passion for Street and Latin dance styles, she has a broad dance vocabulary and is able to bring a unique perspective to the stage.

Class 1 (45 mins)

After class youth will dismissed for a brief water break and pictures with the choreographers
10:45am – 11:30am
Class 2 (45 mins)
11:30am – 12:00pm
All youth will gather to recap their routines learned for the day. They will all be presented with awards. Take a large group picture and youth will be dismissed.
Once registered you will receive an email confirming the details of your registration. One of our staff will contact you within 24hrs to answer any questions you may have and provide you with an estimate which will require a signature of approval.

Upon approval you will receive an email with your final invoice and welcome package which will include a media release form, frequently asked questions and tips on how to prepare for Dance Revolt. The media release form must be signed by each student’s parent or guardian and returned to JBG staff during the site visit.
Upon receipt of payment we will book a site visit to ensure we have adequate equipment for the workshop, meet your staff and collect the media release forms
