This workshop takes students on a journey through Canada’s unique contribution to the R&B genre. Learners of all skill levels and ages will be engaged with interactive vocal activities that explore the rich sounds and stories of Canadian-based R&B, including influences from the Caribbean and US. This 90-180 minute crash course is perfect for intermediate and high school students who want to hone their vocal abilities through group activities and individual performances. Students can focus on technique, improvisation, or acappella, depending on their comfort level. Each class is structured around different topics related to R&B singing in a Canadian context, and includes modules on timbre, tones, harmonics, and beats.
