Mark Samuels

Meet Mark Samuels, a trailblazer in the world of dance, whose journey from the vibrant stages of Canada to the grandeur of the United States has left an indelible mark on the industry. With over two decades of experience and a passion for choreography, Mark has become a revered figure in the dance community.

In the early stages of his career, Mark’s talent and dedication led him to perform alongside some of Canada’s biggest musical icons, including Shawn Desman, Jully Black, Victoria Duffield, and Nelly Furtado. His impressive portfolio boasts appearances on Canada’s most prestigious live shows, including The Juno Awards, MMVA’s, and So You Think You Can Dance Canada.

However, Mark’s ambitions knew no boundaries. He took the leap across the border to the United States, where he had the privilege of working with renowned choreographers and dancing for multi platinum recording artists like Mariah Carey, Mary J Blige, Missy Elliott, and Mario, among others.

Mark’s artistic journey reached new heights when he transitioned from being a dancer to a choreographer. He joined forces with the legendary Paul Becker and co-choreographed for notable films such as “Dr. Cabbie,” Disney’s “The Descendants,” and “Hot Street.” Notably, he also contributed his choreographic skills to the Netflix series “A Series Of Unfortunate Events” starring Neil Patrick Harris, as well as a Lifetime movie titled “Death Of A Vegas Dancer” starring Roslyn Sanchez, both of which captivated audiences in 2016.

What sets Mark apart is his deep-rooted connection to the heart of Canadian dance culture. He is celebrated as one of the founding dancers from Toronto and maintains a close affiliation with Do Dat Entertainment, Canada’s first Hip Hop Dance agency. This connection to Do Dat Entertainment reflects Mark’s commitment to nurturing the local dance scene and providing opportunities for emerging talents in the country. He believes in giving back to the community that helped shape his career.

Mark Samuels’ significance in the dance world extends beyond his impressive career. He is not only a testament to the power of perseverance and passion but also a symbol of the potential for growth and innovation in the Canadian dance industry. Mark’s dedication to the art form and his relentless pursuit of excellence position him as an influential voice in the dance community, ensuring that opportunities continue to flourish for dancers in Canada and beyond.
