Spoken Word

Our visual arts program – ETCH, allow students to bring their creative thoughts to life. By combining classroom learning and hands-on practice, students will achieve a better understanding of theories and develop enhanced visual arts skills, methods, use of materials and tools. This will allow them to expand their creative practice and find their creative edges — as well as develop the skills needed to pursue post-secondary education.

What to expect from Spoken Word
Spoken word program that is open for all students from grade 6-12. Designed for an aspiring novelist, poet or essayist, in fiction or non-fiction, creative writing. Scribe focuses on narrative style, plot and character development to help students find their own voice and style. Using fundamental poetry and writing elements, such as similes, metaphors, stanza, form, rhythm, rhyme, word sounds and much more. This program supports beginner intermediate and advanced level, writers.

Program Requirements

  • Students Grades 6 and up
  • Dedicated program space suitable for programs goals.
  • Pencil or pen
  • Tables and chairs.
