Six years of this movement. …

Six years of this movement. …

Six years of this movement. 💗

Who would have thought that an Instagram series that was first shot in my little bedroom with black bristol boards and an Ikea lamp would grow into the organization it is today?

So many people still don’t take me seriously when I always say that my “career” or “thing I’ll do after I’m in school” or “dream job when I grow up” is to continue to grow and scale Flaunt-It. I still remember the times and people who told me this would never grow beyond an IG series, nor will it ever make a difference. However, in six years, we hosted numerous events, gathered thousands of guests, and shot tens of thousands of photos of women, femmes & non-binary folks.

We launched two cohorts of our Creative Internship program, a 200-page visual anthology, several artist showcases, and small business markets, and now, even a Studio is coming to life. From the bottom of my heart, thank you to everyone who grew up with Flaunt-It and me 🫶🏽

This reel is a small recap of even my growth as a woman over the years. From seeing photos of the first time, I exhibited my work at @theremixproject’s Alumni Showcase back in 2017 to a photo of me standing by exhibits I’m curating now with my team. To my team, past & present members, and to everyone who supports this movement — I love you all. Cheers to many more years to come xx
