Tabby Donaldson

Tabby Rockstar Donaldson, a Toronto-based choreographer with a deep passion for Dancehall, has been at the forefront of the dance scene for over a decade. His journey into the world of dance led him to receive a prestigious scholarship from Jacob’s Pillow in Boston in 2009. This remarkable opportunity allowed him to train under legendary dance figures such as Mr. Wiggles and Marjory Smarth, shaping his expertise and artistry.

Tabby’s creative flair and exceptional talent have led him to open and perform on national and international stages alongside renowned artists like Mr. Vegas, Ginuwine, En Vogue, Chris Brown, and many others. His distinctive moves have also graced music videos for artists like Taio Cruz, Rihanna, k-os, Beenie Man, Vybz Kartel, and more.

A versatile artist, Tabby Donaldson continuously seeks growth and exploration. He has recently delved into Afro dance, expanding his repertoire and inspiring others with his dedication to learning and teaching in this genre.

Notably, Tabby was a member of the groundbreaking Baby Boyz Dance Group, an innovative urban dance company based in Brampton, Ontario. This group, founded by choreographer Trevor Brown in 2003, made waves in the Toronto dance scene with their unique storytelling approach. One of their productions, “Three Boyz, Three Countries, One Dream,” delved into themes of identity and ambition. The show combined urban dance precision with a captivating narrative, breaking new ground in Canadian dance theatre.

While “Three Boyz, Three Countries, One Dream” showed early signs of experimentation, it also signaled the emergence of a new Canadian hybrid in the performing arts—a fusion of urban dance, storytelling, and contemporary choreography. Despite its challenges, the production served as a trailblazing example of the innovative spirit that Tabby Donaldson brings to the dance world.

As Tabby continues to push boundaries and explore new artistic territories, he remains a true visionary in the world of choreography. His dedication to his craft and his willingness to experiment make him a dynamic force in the dance community, inspiring others to embrace creativity and innovation in their artistic journeys.
