I’m thrilled to announce a monumental event on MAY 5, 2023 – our first JBG Masterclass featuring the legendary Kid Kut at Different Booklist. With an illustrious 20-year legacy in Toronto’s Hip Hop and R&B culture, Kid Kut is set to share insights, experiences, and wisdom that have shaped the vibrant landscape we know today.

As I reflect on my own journey, gratitude fills me for the remarkable experiences that have shaped my life. Growing up in the Jane Finch community, my family instilled the values of turning dreams into reality, emphasizing the importance of community, and fostering friendships. It’s been a privilege to witness the transformative power of ideas.

The Jane Finch community, akin to a mashup of Krush Groove, Electric Boogaloo, A Different World, and House Party, exposed me to the genesis of Toronto’s Hip Hop culture. My brother Luther, his friends, and the community played a pivotal role in shaping my perspective and influencing my path.

One luminary who left an indelible mark on me is Kevin ‘Kid Kut’ Keith from the iconic Baby Blue Sound Crew. His monumental contribution to Toronto’s Hip Hop and R&B scene has been an inspiration to countless individuals, including myself.
